In Ely's vegan restaurant, I met some Long Islanders now living here in Ohio who carry on a family business called Hudson Fasteners. I told them about my TrashScans exhibitions, and that I'd be very interested in seeing their products as possible material for future scans. (I had worked in my wife's grandfather's old-fashioned hardware store years ago and have always loved all the things associated with building.) They immediately went to their truck and brought in boxes of assorted nuts, bolts, screws, washers, etc. Some were antiques. Lisa said, "Here, make art."
Thanks, Lisa and Chris. www.hudsonfasteners.com
