Drawing the figure inspires all my creative activities. In his terrific book, "Undressed Art: Why We Draw," Peter Steinhart reflects on the brain's role in the drawing process. He writes about scientific studies that reveal that life drawing changes our body chemistry, making us understand what we see more clearly. For me, all artistic ideas stem from anatomical studies of the human form.
